Scoring in the Hamptons

Scoring in the Hamptons

So the other day, my good friend (and goddess), Jenna Minardi, asked me if I’d be interested in pillaging a Hamptons house’s goods since it was being torn down. The good-hearted owner was asking people to take what was in the house before demolition began.

Jenna never ceases to amaze me. Besides being an insanely beautiful mother of two, yoga guru with her own Yoga Studio in East Hampton - Route114Yoga.com - and a wonderful friend, she is often the recipient of many good will gestures by her Hamptons yoga clients. She has given my son bags and bags of Ralph Lauren and other designer clothes that were probably worn a handful of times (based on their condition)… all gifts from her clients. Besides being generous, I love this because it’s good for the environment, I love to recycle and the clothes are gorgeous.

But this call intrigued me more than the others. A house on the beach was coming down and everything inside needed to come out.

Jenna scored some amazing white WestElm curtains, pewter curtain rods, massive Ikea shelves, gorgeous linen pillows and a sleigh bed that is SO her. Much of the interior had already been pillaged, but we did manage to find some awesome pieces.

I got a relatively new range, dishwasher, fridge, lamp, vases, console and a bunch of other things. Hoping the big items can come home in a day or two after I figure out who is going to do the hauling. Anyway, I’ll let the pictures tell you what a fun adventure it was!

We’re heading back tomorrow (I think) to figure out how to deal with the big items, like the sleigh bed, range, fridge and dishwasher. What a great day it was!
