I was exceptionally good at hiding when I was young. Maybe it was partly because I was small for my age, or maybe it was because I wanted to steal attention from my older sister, but I used to love seeing how many small nooks and crannies I could fit myself into without getting stuck. One time, I even managed to curl inside a rolling suitcase – and close the lid.
My favorite place to hide was inside the clothing racks at large department stores. The millisecond my mom turned her back, I’d deviously camouflage myself between the clothes and play an impromptu game of Hide and Seek with her. I can distinctly remember my mom’s panic stricken face when she scolded me for it.
“One day, you’re really going to be lost and I’m not going to look for you because I’m going to think you’re only playing a game!” she’d say to me. “Do you remember the girl who cried wolf?”
For me, hiding was just a game, but for my mom (who always imagined the worst) it was like living every parent’s worst nightmare.
All children love to hide – but their choices of hiding places are not always ideal. Instead of frantically running around the house in search of your hiding child, give your child a safe, posh play area to escape to with a Lucy and Michael play tent. These modern play tents are the perfect size. They’re big enough for two kids to play in, but small enough
for them to feel like they’re hiding in a top secret fort. Also, try explaining to your child how hiding makes you feel. Then, tell him that if he wants to be alone for a while, he can hide in his Lucy and Michael play tent and you will not disturb him.
Named after creators Andria Frankfort and Brooke Halvorson’s two children, Lucy and Michael play tents are available in beautiful contemporary colors and patterns for the modern family. Choose one of the twelve collections for your child, each designed with its own unique print to give it a style of its own. Made with fabric, these whimsical indoor play tents are a true heirloom quality toy that both parents and children will love to have in the home. What’s more, Lucy and Michael play tents also have optional matching accessories, including aprons, tote bags, pillows, and polar bear rugs.
So, instead of your kids hiding in unsafe places or even tearing apart the couch cushions and ruining your new bed sheets to create a fort, this holiday season, give them their very own modern indoor play tent by Lucy and Michael!
