The online service called Catalog Choice has made it simple for people to cancel print catalogs that they are not interested in having mailed to their home anymore – and it’s catching on fast! It was launched in October by the Ecology Center and endorsed by the National Wildlife Federation and the Natural Resources Defense Council. As of the beginning of January, nearly 350,000 people requested to be removed from almost 4.3 million catalogs. Nonprofit Catalog Choice is a free service that will help reduce mailbox clutter and save natural resources by decreasing the number of unwanted catalogs that homeowners throw away on a daily basis.

This new technology is perfect for those with modern homes – after all, at the epicenter of modernism is a person’s need for a clean, clutter-free space and a simple life, which is exactly what Catalog Choice hopes to assist in providing. In fact, a headline on their home page, located at http://www.catalogchoice.org/, urges consumers to “Simplify your life and save natural resources.”

With the explosion of the Blogesphere and modern online retail stores (such as All Modern.com, All Modern Baby.com, All Modern Lighting, and All Modern Furniture.com), the desire – and the need – for print catalogs relating to modern furniture and modern décor have become passé.
