There are good reasons for that: it’s hard to find a unique name that isn’t trademarked, and even harder to find a short domain that’s still available. Still, there are plenty of places to hunt down interesting domains, and here we list some of the better ones. We’ve also included places to buy and sell more established sites.

TicketBiz Domains – Specializes in aftermarket domains for ticket sellers, some examples available while writing this are megatickets.net, nbaevents.com and nflevents.net.

Afternic – Buy and sell domains, domain appraisals, Escrow on purchases and will also assist you in purchasing a domain name from its current owner.

HuntingMoon – Large listing of aftermarket domains for sale. Also offers domain appraisals and Escrow services. They have a lease to own option on domains that requires a 10% down payment and payable over 36 months.

Moniker Marketplace – Online marketplace for aftermarket domains. Also runs offline live and silent auctions across the country and they have a directory of upcoming auctions on their site.
