I began to see some similarities in my cruising different websites and favorite vintage furniture. For example:

Atomic Darkness

I am SOOO over full flash sites, mainly because I have the attention span of a tse-tse fly, but zoogami.net reminded me of the classic atomic clock. Love those.

RED PLASTIC

Will this red ever go out of style? I doubt it, and I’m glad.

WOOD, THE NEW “BLACK”

I’m really digging wood again. With the age of ecology coming to a head, I think it’s challenging to be modern AND retro using “wood” as part of a web palette. Aardman.com pulls it off nicely.

Although I’m going with the darker palette here, web 2.0 design truly has a “retro” bent, so to speak, color wise. Mint greens, creamy whites and coral pinks are all very hot colors right now. Here is a pretty good color card for reference:

I’ve seen (and used) many a 50s ashtrays in these color tones in wavy shapes.
